How Dipper handles multilingual transcription without guesswork
A short tour of the transcription languages Dipper supports and how language selection works in practice.
Dipper supports transcription in 16 languages. The goal is not to guess at everything you might say — it's to give you a reliable set of choices and keep the output in the language you actually spoke.
Pick a language, or leave Auto on
Before you record, you can choose a transcription language explicitly. If you leave the app on Auto, Dipper uses your current app language as a hint for transcription. The transcription provider still returns the detected language on the finished note, which helps us keep playback, summaries, search, and chat consistent.
Summaries stay in the original language
We don't automatically translate your note into something else. If you recorded in Portuguese, you should get a Portuguese transcript and Portuguese summary back. The same is true for English, Spanish, French, Japanese, and the rest of the supported set.

What about the interface?
The app interface itself is currently localized in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. That means the buttons, settings, and labels appear in those three languages, while note transcription supports the broader 16-language set above.
Why it matters
Voice notes are most useful when they come back in the language you were actually thinking in. That's the job here: fewer guesses, clearer settings, and output you can trust when you open the note again later.
