About Dipper

I'm building a voice note app that takes its own notes.

Dipper started as an internal tool: I wanted somewhere to dump 20-minute voice memos at the end of the day and get back something readable the next morning. Once I relied on it for my own work, I kept shaping it into a product for anyone whose thinking happens out loud.

Principles

  1. Quiet by default. No streaks, no gamified pressure, no noisy dashboards.
  2. Cloud-backed on purpose. Your notes stay available for transcription, playback, search, tasks, folders, and chat.
  3. Your language stays yours. Transcripts and summaries stay in the language you spoke instead of auto-translating them away.
  4. Practical organization beats second-brain hype. The goal is simple: help you find what you said and act on it later.
  5. Your notes are never used to train AI models. Deleting a note removes its transcript, summary, embeddings, and associated audio from storage.
